Devil’s Advocate!

When there is no comparative judgment, there is no more need to be right. Goodbye, Blame!

When I acknowledge how much other people know, there is no more need to know everything. Bye bye, Know It All!

When I honor my own divinity, I can honor the divinity in all other beings. Even Donald Trump!

While I can see the need for divisiveness (in order to clarify the shadows that need healing), I can also see the need for building bridges of hope, love, and faith! Hello, Joe Biden!

We all have our jobs to do and our roles to play, as Krishna said to Arjuna in the Upanishads when Arjuna wanted to stop being a war leader because he saw the suffering that caused. I have been a bridge and I have been a devil’s advocate, and sometimes devil’s advocate is more fun. Shake ’em up! Get ’em thinkin’! Even when I’m wrong.

Because I don’t see that it really matters upside or down. We’re all in this game of life together, for better or for worse, richer or poorer.

I no longer ask myself whether I have overcome my hate. Rather I now ask myself, have I overcome my attachments? That’s the real game changer.
