I had long wanted more “Connection to the Holy” out of my life, yet it took me a while to figure out that it was not religion I wanted, nor a philosophy, but to establish lifestyle foundations -a daily practice- that would contribute to my meaningful, purposeful existence.
I finally committed. Well, actually I’ve been committed for a while, but I wanted to add a greater depth of accountability to my efforts to lose weight, manage my diabetes, and feel successful, so I signed up for Noom. Noom is a downloadable app for your cell phone into which you can log your dailyContinue reading “Zoomin’ With Noomin.”

How do we talk to each other? I listened to someone narrating a story of how he told off a company that just wouldn’t listen. The language Paul used in his narration spoke to me of deep seated anger. I understand anger. I have lived much of my life in a state of anger until I resolved the issues causing my anger – and so much of that was related to the stories I told myself about my relationship to the world.
The day is almost over… Thoughts are done being thought… And I am seeking inspiration for this blog tonight. Well, I have just completed a project that has consumed several weekends. First I ripped up an old rug, then laid down laminate vinyl flooring. That looked so good that I couldn’t stop there, so IContinue reading “What’s a Gal to Write”
I’ve had occasion to sincerely consider where I want to spend time. I’m not talking about the daily necessities of life, which must be met. Rather I am talking about all the Will 0′ the Wisps that capture my attention and I give my email address thinking, “I will follow this one.” I’ve spent aContinue reading “Getting Involved?”
Today is one of those days where happy events just seem to flow into each other. I bumped into a friend to walk with by the Hudson River this morning. I had just finished telling her about another friend whom I hadn’t seen for a while. He is an aging Vietnam veteran who helped me to understand my son’s reasons for enlisting in the military. I just spent my morning with a wonderful friend. We met at a psychic fair and hit it off immediately. Lately we’ve been meeting once a month for coffee. We share experiences, feelings, life situations, and best of all, the gift of unconditional listening. This is a true gift in these challenging times of gettingContinue reading “Women Time”
Men talk about Man Caves, women discuss She Sheds, and I’ve been working on my bedroom. I’m no sultry diva. This is not all about curtains, bangles, or red satin sheets. It’s about restful space, creative space, and peace of mind.
Two weekends ago, I pulled up a very old rug in my bedroom. Underneath was nothing but powder left from the foam insulation pad. Then this past weekend, I put down my first laminate floor. I’ve always been a DIYer -or technically speaking, would that be DIMer, since I’m writing in the first person? Either way, Do-It-Yourself-er or Do-It-Myself-er, it is satisfying to have something
